More wildlife in mangroves... North American River Otters may not live in mangroves,
but they certainly like to roam and hunt in them. I had been watching and photographing some of these animals along the Caloosahatchee River Delta for some time. Our encounter was brief and of mutual respect. I managed one quick shot before we both retreated...

Below: Low tide provides calcium rich eats to this migratory Spotted Sandpiper, another species
not home to mangroves, yet a truly savvy picker. Free barnacles anyone..? The bird belongs to
a family (..?) of 4, here since July 2018, subject of an upcoming feature story. Also see???
